Adjusting your Physical Body to Elevate your Spirit.

Hope everyone is well.  There’s so much heavy energy in the world right now and it’s so important to work on ways to shake it off.

This week we’re working on adjusting your physical body to elevate your spirit. So why is this so important?

In your body you have 72,000 energy channels or nadis.  At any one time any of these energy channels can become blocked due to stress, anger, fear, jealousy, judgement, hate, what you digest including food, socials, people, media and any outside heavy energy that invades your space. 

You may feel this in your body as these channels become blocked your body goes into resistance, tenses up, and may causes aches, pain and in more extreme measures can go from dis-ease to disease. 

Kids instinctively know how to move energy through their bodies.  Hanging out with my niece teaches me so much about energy. I watch her dance around when she needs to move, cry when she’s hurt, kick out when she’s frustrated, laugh uncontrollably when she’s happy, walk in funny ways to express herself, colour, play with toys, share how she feels, she’s creative, fun and full of beans.  

You will see kids having tantrums in the supermarket as a way to move through the frustration they feel.  Zooming around the house, being silly, dancing around the room, singing, rolling down the hill. That’s how they clear through their 72,000 nadis. They don’t hold back.  

As adults, we’ve lost the ability to let go and move through heavy energy for fear of how we will be seen or fear of feeling our feels. We resist the urge to say how we feel incase we offend, to dance like no one’s watching in case we feel stupid, to feel our feels incase it’s too traumatic or we’re considered too much, too emotional etc.    

When we keep the body in resistance and the energy channels become blocked they have to clear somehow and this dam of energy may cause bursts of anger, depression, anxiety and physically may cause disease. 

Now I’m not suggesting (as much as sometimes we feel like it) to have a tantrum in the supermarket, or let your emotions run wild in every situation to clear your channels, but finding ways to release your emotions and clear through your energy channels is so important to your well being.  

Think of it as housekeeping for the body.  Breathwork, postures, movement, chanting, meditation are all great tools to clear heavy energy and Kundalini Yoga encompasses all of this.  

If you can’t get on the mat, walking, nature, hanging out with animals, laughter, dancing being a kid again are all great ways to move energy. 

When your body is in resistance and under pressure your energy doesn’t flow to its optimum and when it doesn’t flow you are not at your optimum. 

What’s happening in your physical body is a reflection of what’s happening in your energetic body. Your physical body is your best teacher, so listen to it and allow yourself to instinctively know what it needs just like the child knows. 

As I always say, better out than in.
