This week we will work on the Throat Chakra, Vishuddah. 🔵

This chakra is all about speaking your truth and in order to do that this chakra needs to be connected to the heart as this is where your truth lies.

It’s not always easy to speak your truth.  I know when I was younger I would avoid confrontation by avoiding the hard conversations and what I found is it led to more confrontation than if I’d just spoken my truth in the first place. 

This chakra is your voice of the heart, if connected to the heart.  When in balance you speak with compassion, understanding and love.  You don’t interrupt or talk over people but you have a strength to be heard and really listened to.  You connect to the other using voice from your heart through talking, speech and song. 

If out of balance and disconnected you will speak from the ego and you could either be aggressive, pushy and brash, cold and disconnected or meek, quiet and unheard.  You would also tend to either talk over people, interrupt a lot or allow people to talk over you and remain unheard. 

In order to be heard and voice who you are this chakra needs to be open.  

Mantra is the best tool for this chakra as mantra is the music of the soul and will open your throat to your heart.   Chant mantra often and from the heart, it’s such a beautiful experience and will connect your voice to your heart. 

Dogs breath is a great pranayama and cobra, cow pose and camel are great postures for the throat.
