Getting back to basics
These past few weeks have become quite intense for some with the election aftermath, the super moon energy and of course general life issues that are always going to arise. Last Sunday morning my neighbours water heater burst and flooded my flat and whilst cleaning up I pinched a nerve in my back, so understandably I began to feel quite overwhelmed and chaotic. This feeling of chaos began to filter into other areas of my life and it was then that I realised that in the midst of this chaos, it was time to stop, breath and go back to basics, in other words make life simple for the moment. So I shelved all the issues that could wait, dealt with what was most urgent and cleared a space to just ‘be’. I upped my morning mediation by adding an extra healing mantra, I took a break from the news, and I did some nice things for myself like going for swims at the beach, getting a massage for my back and buying myself some flowers. In this simplified space I made room in my head to sort through the issues that would eventually need addressing.
Like a house full of clutter when our mind is full of information and worries we can’t see the wood from the trees and it’s times like this to get back to basics to what your ‘go tos’ are that allow you to relax and bring peace and calm in a time of frenzy. This is how we can recalibrate to allow us to deal with the heavy stuff from a centred conscious space.
So try this when feeling overwhelmed. Stop, take a breath and get back to basics. From there you may just find what it is you need to move forward.
Love and light,
