Winter Cleanse – A Journey through the Chakras Kundalini Style!

Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️❄️❄️.
What a beautiful night we had shedding and planting new seeds at Yogi Maya’s workshop on Friday night and the long gong bath was sublime! ?
So now that you’ve passed the darkest night of winter you start to head towards summer solstice and these next few months are a time of rejuvenation, hibernation and growth.
It’s also a time where your energy may become stagnant and depleted causing fatigue and dis-ease in the body that can result in colds, flues and other discomforts.
As much as you would love to stay in bed or do minimal movement in winter, it’s actually one of the most important times to keep your body moving and keep up with your practice as your practice is an affective form of preventative care that will help you to stay healthy and energised through the colder months.?♀️
So in the wake of Winter Solstice from Monday 24 June myself and the other Kundalini teachers in the studio will be starting a winter cleanse series in all our classes – A Journey through the Chakras Kundalini style. ?♀️?♀️?♀️
Each Chakra is a strong energy centre and plays an important role in our lives here on earth. One can not be completely balanced without the other. As a whole when all are open and lit we are at our most conscious and energised.
In Kundalini Yoga we have eight chakra’s:
❤️Root – Muladhara
?Sacral – Svadhisthana
?Naval – Manipura
?Heart – Anahata
?Throat – Vishuddha
?Third eye – Ajna
?Crown – Sahasrara
?Aura. – The Circumvent Field
To kick the series off, in my class on Monday at 9.30am we will work on the Muladhara Chakra also known as the Root Chakra.
This chakra is the colour red and represented by the elephant ???and like the elephant it is about being grounded, earthbound and secure. It is our energetic foundation and represents our basic physical human needs here on earth. It’s where our underlying trust for life, our feeling of being safe and secure and our ability to look after ourselves here in earth lie. As this is about looking after our human needs a lot of fear can get stuck here causing energetic blocks and a feeling of constipation, so it’s so important to keep this energetic centre flowing. Like a house which without its foundation it cannot stand, for us humans without our energetic foundation we cannot stand either.
A great posture for the root chakra is crow pose, hands in pray pose elbows pushed between the knees with breath of fire.
A great mantra is Humee Hum Brahm Hum.
If you feel your root chakra is out of balance practice this posture for 3 minutes every day and meditate to this mantra for 11 minutes every day both for for 40 days and see how you feel. Let me know, I’d love to hear. ❤️
