The Navel – your Kundalini Powerhouse.

How is everyone feeling? We are going through a lot of unrest on this planet at the moment and even if you don’t follow the news or social media the heavy energy is palpable.
I was away last weekend and uploaded my newsletter prior to what happened at Bondi Junction and I would like to acknowledge it here.
It was shocking and heartbreaking to watch and my heart goes out to all affected. A lot of our community are from the area, so I hope you’re all ok. Last week in class we chanted Ra Ma Da Sa sending healing energy to those affected and Akaals for the beautiful souls we lost. Akaal. 💔
This week we are working on our powerhouse of Kundalini energy, the Navel Chakra.
The Navel Chakra is where our Kundalini energy starts to then move its way down to the Root Chakra and then up the spine to ignite all other chakras.
It is the colour yellow and represented by the mountain goat as it provides endurance, commitment and motivation. If you’ve ever seen a mountain goat climb a mountain you’ll know what I mean. 😃
It is your powerhouse and when in balance and able to flow freely, it elevates your energy up through the higher centres connecting you into all. It also powers you to move forward in your every day life with vitality.
When out of balance it may become blocked in the lower triangle and either cause fatigue and lack of lustre for life or anger that if left to grow, can present itself as bullying, controlling behaviours, or at the extreme vitriol hate and violence.
This is an important one to keep in flow, otherwise rather than energising you, the primitive emotions such as anger, hate, justification etc it invokes when blocked will eventually burn you out and cause you dis-ease which may turn into disease within your body.
Navel work such as double leg lifts, alternate leg lifts, stretch pose and any posture where you work the Navel is great for balancing this chakra. Breath of fire is an effective breath to activate and clear and any meditation where you pump the Navel such as Sat Kriya is also great for activating and elevating the kundalini energy.
The more you work your Navel the stronger it becomes and the greater your zest for life.
