“All the light we cannot see” and Summer Solstice Workshop

Sat Nam,

I’m watching a series on Netflix at the moment, “All the light we cannot see” and it’s enlightening.

Here’s a quote from the movie I loved:

“The light that comes when you burn coal or charcoal, the light you get from a piece of coal is actually sunlight, the point is light lasts forever, for a billion years inside of a piece of coal, but darkness lasts not even for one second when you turn on the light.”

Right now in the world we are experiencing a huge amount of suffering and warring not just on the battlefield but on the streets of our own countries, in the media, on social media and with each other.  It’s hard to see the light at times but it is there.

In each act of kindness, in each hand that reaches out to another, in each meditation when we chant together, in each kiss hello and goodbye, in each thank you, smile, act of service, in each moment of love and compassion there is light.

The quote above is so apt because light extinguishes darkness and sometimes even though it’s hard to see, light is still there like the sunlight in the coal.

I want more than anything for this world to unite in peace and the only way I see that happening is if we spread our light.

Each and every one of us has light within us and if we want peace in our world it is up to each and every one of us to share our light.
