How beautiful has this weather been! Spring is in the air!
I went to an Ayurvedic and Yoga workshop yesterday and they talked about the Doshas which is what makes up our being, Pitta (air, ether), Vata (fire) and Kapha (water and earth) being the elements of the body and having one or two being more dominant. The Doshas are what we are born with and they affect what we can eat for our body type, how we sleep, our moods etc so it’s important to keep them in balance as is our Tatvas. Everyone has a part of all Doshas in them just some are more prominent than others. I love the synchronicity that happens in my life when I work on a series!
This week we are working on the Air Tatva which is also connected to the Heart Chakra, the sense of touch and attachment. It has been said instead of being attached to earthly possessions be attached to the whole universe. With this Tatva we need to be aware of any attachment issues we may have.
This Tatva also produces our energy or Prana, it produces cells, supports blood flow and keeps our organs healthy. We can’t see air but we can feel it such as the energy of our heart.
Kundalini Yoga Kriyas for the heart, all pranayama such as breath of fire, alternate nostril breath and cannon breath, asanas where we work strongly on opening the chest, clearing heavy energy and activating the heart area and meditations for the heart all work wonderfully to help keep this Tatva balanced.
This week we will work on a Kriya to get in touch with our sense of feeling, it will be beautiful!
