Five Week Series – The Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age

Sat Nam,

This week we move from Summer into Autumn and as the season changes around us, as we’re a part of nature we adapt too.  The days will be cooler, the nights shorter and the deciduous trees will start to shed their leaves as many animals prepare for the winter months of hibernation.  We as humans may not take ourselves off to a cave but for us it’s a time of integration and rest as we slow down with a lot of us spending weekends hidden under the Doona watching Netflix!  (Well that’s me anyway! ?)

So this week to mark the change, I will start a Series that I’ll be teaching in all my classes for the next five weeks: A Journey through the Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age.

Yogi Bhajan says:

“In this time Piscean values are giving way to Aquarian values. The difference between the two is very simple. Piscean values work from the ego, creating boundaries. Aquarian values have no boundaries; they are Infinite. Aquarian consciousness takes you inside your soul, so that you can relate to the soul in all.”

Yogi Bhajan predicted that the transition into the Aquarian Age would be an unsettling one with troubled times.  Right now on the planet we are experiencing crazy times, with lots of fear, uncertainty, ignorance and unrest. There is a great imbalance in the world of those who want to unite, those who want to divide and those who are not sure which way they lean.

He introduced Kundalini Yoga to the Western World to provide a means of support as we navigate through this new age.

He also gave us five Sutras or ‘words to live by’ for the Aquarian age to provide guidance as we move from a finite way of being to an infinite way of being.

These Sutras are:

1. Recognize that the other person is you.

2. There is a way through every block.

3. When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off.

4.  Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.

5. Vibrate the Cosmos. The Cosmos shall clear the path.

This week we will start with the first Sutra ‘Recognise that the other person is you’. This is such an important Sutra for these times, that if practiced from the heart, unites us at the infinite essence of our being where we are all the same. It brings us together, through the purity of our souls, with compassion, understanding and always with love.
