Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
⭐️Not all heroes wear capes⭐️
Sat Nam,
⭐️Not all hero’s wear capes.
⭐️I absolutely love Brené Brown and I love her take on courage.
⭐️Ordinary everyday courage doesn’t make the headlines, it rarely has hero status, it’s just everyday people doing their best to navigate this thing called life.
⭐️Life can be bloody scary and it definitely takes courage to step out of your comfort zone, be vulnerable, show up, be seen, risk failure, speak your truth, have that difficult conversation and the big one to feel love with your whole heart even though it may end up hurting like hell.
⭐️Maya Angelou’s says courage is the foundation of all other virtues because without courage we can’t sustain the others. So true! If all roads lead to consciousness, then courage underlies our path.
⭐️Courage is like a muscle. You have to keep working at it to build it and make it strong.
⭐️Kundalini Yoga is a great tool to help build courage. Just showing up to your mat and being seen takes courage. Allowing yourself to feel vulnerable as this yoga confronts you takes courage. Breathing through the pain in your body as you challenge yourself through the more difficult postures takes courage. Allowing yourself to be heard as you chant mantras takes courage. Fighting the demons that come up as you face yourself on your mat takes courage.
⭐️Not all heroes wear capes. It’s mostly the ordinary everyday people like you and me who battle through the trials and tribulations that life throws at us. The people who battle anxiety, depression, illness, financial hardship, healing wounds of the past, heartache and still wake up every morning, get out of bed and face life one foot in front of the other. That’s courage.
⭐️So give yourself a hero’s pat on the back for all the courageous steps you take every day and keep building those muscles whether it be on your mat or through every day life. Your strong foundation will serve you well.
