Sat Nam, This year it’s with a heavy heart that I wish you a Happy…
And just like that we’re back!
Sat Nam,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has enjoyed a restful break. I spent part of my new year break in beautiful Tassie, frolicking in the lavender fields, dipping my feet into the Bays of Fire (don’t worry it was just the ocean) and hiking through Launceston Gorge.
New Years represents new beginnings and it’s a time when many people resolve to start something new or commit to a new way of being whether that be a new job, start a business, more yoga, becoming healthy, travelling more etc.
I believe its an opportunity to start afresh but committing to a new way of being is a daily commitment we must uphold if we want to create an ongoing habit.
In Kundalini Yoga, they say it takes 40 days to create a habit, 90 days to commit to the habit, 120 days cements the habit and 1000 days you’ve created something that becomes a part of your DNA.
For the New Year I challenge you to create a habit by first doing it for 40 days and see how you feel and if the habit is what you want continue on for 90 days. That might mean you commit to weekly yoga for a period of 40 days, hint hint. 😃
The holiday break even though it’s the holidays can be hectic. There’s so much going on all at once and we’re in the summer energy of doing. This can affect the balance of your nervous system as often us humans in the busy times, particularly if we have kids around us, find it hard to find stillness and quiet reward for our bodies.
So this week I want to start the year off with a class that balances the nervous system and keeps your energetic foundation steady.
We will be working on self reward and quiet movement. The perfect opportunity to reconnect to you.
