Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
The Throat Chakra. 💙
Sat Nam,
Happy full moon eclipse in Scorpio! What a powerful energetic time we are in. As Scorpio on the plus side is a passionate loyal sign and on the down side unforgiving, this moon is asking us to let go of grievances, forgive and follow our passions. As it’s an eclipse it will bring to light areas you are holding onto that need to be released. Take the opportunity to sit with the pain and exhale it out. One thing I do throughout my practice is repeat the word release on my exhales. As I always say better out than in.
This week we are working on the throat chakra. The throat chakra is the colour blue, the element of ether and relates to Nam your identity.
It is your voice to express your identity on this earth. Sat meaning truth relates to the heart and Sat Nam means truth is my name or identity so it is most important that your throat chakra is connected to your heart so you speak your truth.
A balanced throat chakra always speaks your truth from the heart. Your voice is soothing, it is inspiring, compassionate, kind, loving and wise. You share your purpose and wisdom of your heart through your voice. When out of balance you may either be too quiet and softly spoken, shut down and block your words for fear of confrontation or failure. When too open you may speak out of turn, over the top of people, be too loud and may be heartless, overbearing or even aggressive in your expression. Your words may also come from your ego rather than your heart.
Neck turns, neck rolls, cobra, cow and any posture where you are stretching out the throat are great for this chakra. Chanting mantra the language of the soul is also a powerful way to connect your throat chakra to your heart and find your Sat Nam. Humee Hum Brahm Hum is a great mantra to open this chakra.
This week in class we will practice a Kriya focussing on the throat and use this mantra in our meditation.
Your voice is one of the most powerful tools you have to express who you are and what you bring to this planet.
