It’s not how you fall, it’s how you get back up.

I have been falling a lot lately! I’ve had some really stressful personal situations in my life and I’m overloaded, my patience is paper thin and I’ve been emotionally all over the shop.

What I’ve observed is not how I’ve fallen, everybody falls, makes mistakes and behaves badly, it’s how I’ve been getting back up. 

I’m so much more aware of my shortfalls these days that I can see when I’m falling and often catch myself half fall and get back up.  

I credit this awareness to my Kundalini Yoga practice.  My mat has taught me so much about myself and how I respond to pressure.  

How you respond to challenge or pressure on the mat is more than likely how you respond to it in life. 

The thing is it’s not easy to catch your behaviour out in life when the pressure hits.  On the mat you can consciously become aware of your self talk and reaction and if you don’t like it, you can change it.  

Think of your mat as your rehearsal stage for life.  Practice changing your behaviour on the mat and the more you practice, the more it will become second nature in life.

So yes I’ve fallen a lot lately but I’m so proud of how I’ve got back up and that’s what counts.
