The space between the pose, workshops and retreats!

Happy Long weekend! And happy full moon in Aries, what a powerful moon that was!
I was having a chat yesterday to a friend about space as she was becoming suffocated in a relationship she was having.
Everything requires space in order for it to flow. Relationships, work, experiences, family, friendships, animals, me and you, our energy channels all require space to flow.
When you go from one situation to the next or constantly work or hang with people without a breather you don’t give yourself space to integrate what you are digesting. Your energy channels become overloaded and it causes a disconnect in your system where your energy gets out of sync with its flow.
This over stimulation without space may cause you to feel overwhelmed, suffocated, resentful, frustrated, anxious, and these emotions cause the body to tighten up and become rigid. Think of your body as your container that holds your energy. When the body is rigid there’s less space within it for your energy to flow.
Your body is your best teacher and it will tell it what you need. When you are feeling these emotions, it’s a sure sign that you need to take some time out to just be and allow the space for the natural flow of things to unfold.
The Universe needs space in order work its magic.
In Kundalini Yoga we have a lot of space between the pose and Savasana an extended rest period where you stay in stillness so the body can integrate what it’s learned through the practice.
Next time your feeling anxious or overwhelmed, stop what your doing and take time out to just be. Nature is a great place to do this as it helps you reconnect back into yourself and to your flow. Notice the affect taking space has on your relationships, work, how you view events in your life.
As of this week I will only be teaching one class at Sydney Yoga Collective on Tuesday night at 6.30pm.
I’m now focussing on developing more awesome workshops and retreats with my beautiful Kundalini partner Bridget, so watch this space.
