The truth is within..

Sat Nam,

How’s everyone doing?  It’s been a bit of a precarious time with so much information coming in and sifting though what’s what.

So with so much info coming in from government, media, social media, friends, family and a lot of it contradicting, how do you know what’s the truth and what to believe?

This is how I look at it.  There’s the stories my head creates and there’s the truth that comes from my heart.

How do I know the difference?  The stories from my mind are usually loud and either come from a place of fear or are full of bravado.  The stories from my heart are quietly shared from a place of peace and grace.

In Kundalini Yoga we have three minds, the negative mind, the positive mind and the neutral mind, each crucial for your well being.

I like to think of the negative mind like a risk assessor, it scans a situation and weighs up all possible risk, and stays in a state of high alert continually warning of possible danger.  This mind if out of control will become very fearful and paranoid and find it hard to hear the truth.

The positive mind is your cheerleader, weighing up every possibility of what could go right and cheering you on.   If out of control it will become arrogant and reckless putting you in situations that could cause harm.

And lastly the neutral mind – your truth.  Think of it like Switzerland.  It has no bias or judgement and just weighs up the negative and positive from a neutral space giving you the truth of a situation.   It’s your instinct, wisdom, gut feel and It’s connected to the heart.

Being able to hear the neutral mind can be hard when it’s voice is being drowned out by the loud opinions of the negative and positive minds.

In yoga it’s knows as your Shuniya Point, your zero point and this is what we endeavour to get to to hear our truth.

Meditation is housekeeping for the minds.  Try meditating for 11 minutes for 40 days and see how well you start feel your truth.  I’d love to hear.
