Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
Be the Tree
Sat Nam,
How’s everyone doing? Happy Full Moon eclipse! I could feel the buzz of energy in this one so strongly!
With all the planetary action going on and the continued uncertainty in the world as our ‘normal’ dramatically changes day by day it’s a really important time to stay grounded whilst staying connected. So how do you do that?
When I was in lockdown I would walk every day past this amazing fig tree (Pictured above). You know the ones who’s roots span a large circumference of the ground and whose branches seems to reach into the heavens. I would stop and place my hands on it, feel it’s sturdy energy and take it in to help me feel grounded even though the ground felt like it was being pulled out from underneath me.
It got me thinking that in order to live a centred life on this planet I need to be like the tree, roots firmly grounded into the earth whilst my branches connect into all that there is.
Your nervous system is your roots, like the roots of the tree. It’s your foundation that holds you up through the ups and down of life. Your higher centres of energy connect you into everything like the branches, but if your nervous system isn’t strong it doesn’t matter how far your branches reach out you will topple over.
Working on the naval is one of the best ways to strengthen your foundation, it physically strengthens your core and energetically builds up your power. Your nervous system has to be able to support your input and output otherwise you will crash.
So here’s an exercise for you. Stand straight, eyes closed, with your arms by your side palms facing forward and think of yourself as the tree. Feel into your equilibrium. Are your roots firmly grounded? Do your branches connect into the universal energy? If you feel wobbly, unsteady on your feet, do some naval work and keep testing your centre with this exercise. The more grounded you feel the stronger your foundation.
If you would like to know more about how to strengthen your nervous system let me know by replying to this email.
