Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
What’s the one word Elizabeth Gilbert recommends you use as your mantra?
Sat Nam,
Last week I went to a workshop with the amazing @elizabeth_gilbert_writer who wrote Eat Pray Love.
She based the whole workshop on one word she felt if we all integrated would change our life for the better.
The word is
✅Relax.
Not what you expected?
She explained that when she relaxed and let go of fear all opportunities opened up to her and she navigated life with ease.
And I agree.
The other day when I was in a frenzied state, as I got ready I caught my overalls strap on the door knob and tore it, then my bag got caught in the door, I couldn’t find my keys and basically came up against obstacle after obstacle.
I compared this to a morning when I’m calm and going with the flow and things tend to just fall into place.
There’s a saying I use as my mantra
✅Slow and Steady wins the race.
When I’m in a frenzie, I remind myself of this to slow down.
When I’m stressed I can’t see the wood from the trees. I hit roadblocks and I feel myself become more resistant as I close myself off and my internal vision becomes more limited.
Relaxing opens me up and allows for my internal vision to see infinite possibility.
Kundalini Yoga is a great way to teach your body what it feels like to relax. When you tense up in a posture or apply Mula Bhanda as you hold your breath, when you exhale and let the posture go your body naturally falls into a state of relax.
Even if it’s only for a few seconds, in that moment you are able to experience what it feels like to be completely relaxed.
It’s in your relaxed state that your infinite capability will become apparent and you are able to open and connect.
With what’s going on in the world at the moment, we are witnessing so much fear, knee jerk reactions, (no toilet paper?) conspiracy theories, finger pointing as people become more frenzied and stressed.
Will relaxing take away what’s happening?
Does it mean not to be aware and take necessary precautions?
No.
It may however give you a different perspective that allows you to navigate this difficult time with a little more ease.
So this week your mission if you choose to accept it is to relax…
