Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
No one else has got your eyes to see the things you see..
Sat Nam,
This week I’ve been mulling over the concept that no person can sit in the same room as another person.
Believe me?
The first tine I heard this concept was in Tarn Taran Singh’s workshop when he pointed out that even though there were 20 + people sitting in front of him, we were all in a different room. Trippy!
Every single one of you have your own opinions, perception, judgement, so when you sit in a room it will be a different experience to the person next to you.
The temperature may be great for you but not so great for someone else. You may enjoy the ambience and someone else may get freaked out by it, there’s so many variables.
I remember lines from a poem a friend gave to me when I was sixteen.
“I’m me and she is she and you’re the only you,
No one else has got your eyes to see the things you see,
It’s up to you to change your life and my life’s up ti me. “
It’s one that stuck in my head and now that I’m a older and wiser I get it! Lol!
So how you view the world is unique and how you view yourself is unique and you’re the only one who can change that view if you don’t like it!
And it all starts with awareness. Awareness leads to connection and connection leads to your truth.
We all have different versions of truth as a human being depending on perspective , but we have one truth as a soul and that’s where we are all headed, to the universal truth.
As Guru Dass said “We are all walking each other home.”
Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of Awareness so it’s a great tool to connect you to your truth and the truth of the Universe. Through asanas, pranayama, meditation and mantra this yoga will challenge you and like a honing devise seek out what needs to be addressed and bring it up so you can release it. Releasing creates space and in that space you flow and connect into your truth.
So next time you are in a room really notice what you see, hear, smell, feel and be aware that it’s never going to be the same as the person next to you, after all they don’t have your eyes to see the things you see!
