New Series: Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age starting with Recognise the Other Person is You!

Sat Nam,

Christmas is just around the corner and with it comes celebrations, family, silliness and fun times.  But this is also a time where a lot people struggle through loneliness, poverty, grief and the stress of the season.

So in the lead up to Christmas we felt it would be a good time to teach a five week series focussing on the Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age.

Yogi Bhajan predicted that the transition into the Aquarian Age would be an unsettling one with troubled times and he wasn’t wrong!

Right now on the planet we are experiencing crazy times, with lots of fear, uncertainty, ignorance and unrest. There is a great imbalance in the world of those who want to unite, those who want to divide and those who are not sure which way they lean.

He introduced Kundalini Yoga to the Western World to provide a means of support as we navigate through this new age.

He also gave us five Sutras or ‘words to live by’ for the Aquarian age to provide guidance as we move from a finite way of being to an infinite way of being.

These Sutras are:

1. Recognize that the other person is you.

2. There is a way through every block.

3. When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off.

4.  Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.

5. Vibrate the Cosmos. The Cosmos shall clear the path.

This week we will start with the first Sutra ‘Recognise that the other person is you’.

This is such an important Sutra for these times (and a good time to practice as we lead up to Christmas).

When practiced from the heart, it connects us through an understanding that we all come from the same source and unites us through the purity of our souls, with compassion, understanding and love.

It’s often a difficult one to grasp after all it’s easy to recognise similarities in someone else who you like but a lot more challenging when it’s someone who opposes everything you stand for.

But here’s the thing Yogi Bhajan says “If you cant see God in all, you can’t see God at all” and understanding this is fundamentally important to understanding the times we are in.

Recognising the other person is you breaks down divides, the “us and them” mentality and unites us.

After all, we’re all in this together…

We will be teaching about these Sutras each week in all classes at Soul Flow Yoga:
