The Pranic Body

Sat Nam,

This week we will be working on the eighth Body in our Ten Body Series, The Pranic Body.

The Pranic Body is the magnetic field of energy that is our life force.  It’s what supports your physical body to live, gets you up in the morning and moves you forward.

The physical body strongly reflects where the Pranic Body is at.  I know for me some days my Pranic Body is cooking with gas because my physical body feels light and alive and other days my Pranic Body is depleted as I struggle to get one foot in front of the other.

How you treat your physical body and what you put into it and expose it to has a direct affect on your Pranic body.  This can include

?what you eat

?how much exercise you do

?the company you keep

?how often you connect with nature, animals the things you love,

?your emotions, how much fear, anger or even excitement you allow yourself to feel.

Yogis believe that we are given a certain amount of Prana in this lifetime so it’s really important that we be aware of how we use, sustain and maintain our energy.

Pranayama (breath work) is one of the best ways to energise the Pranic Body.  Breath of fire, alternative nostril breath, Sitali breath, one minute breath are all example of breaths we can practice to help energise the Pranic Body.

A great meditation for this Body is the So Darshan Kriya.  Instructions on this meditation can be found on either the 3HO website or the Spirit Voyage website.

A powerful mantra for the Pranic Body is Pavan Guru.

Feel into your the flow of your energy, be aware of how your physical body feels.  It will tell you so much about how your Prana is working for you.
