Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
40 days of Wholesomeness – The Liver and Byron Retreat
Sat Nam,
Welcome to October and from what I’ve read in so many places a month of big positive change! Hold onto your hats people, we’re in for an exciting ride!
This week as we continue through our 40 Days of Wholesomeness at Soul Flow Yoga, we start working on our liver.
Physically the liver sits directly under your right rib and it’s main function is to filter the blood, detoxify and create bile for the stomach. It is also where we store pent up anger in the body.
“According to Chinese Medicine, anger comes from the liver. The liver is referred to as, “The sea of emotions,” and it is considered the organ closest to God. What emotion do you think separates us from God the most? You guessed it, anger! It is the wedge between you and yourself, or you and God. In this physical world, anger is the wall that separates us from everyone else.” Nihal Singh
Louise Hayes in her Book How to Heal your Life describes the Liver as “the seat of anger and primitive emotions”.
Anger is a powerful emotion that when used correctly can be a protective force but is often an emotion used to feel as it creates such a charge in the body. It predominantly stems from fear and is the main emotion that separates us from ourselves and our source. Anger has the ability to block our connection to love and compassion as it blindly moves forward in its quest to be heard or be right.
When misused either aggressively or passively it is the most toxic energy there is as we store it in our body and it literally eats away at us.
The third chakra, the navel is connected to the liver because when unbalanced the powerful energy it creates takes the form of anger. Kriyas that work on the Navel are best to channel and balance our life force energy so it is used to power our life in a positive way rather than to destructively power anger.

The grounds are covered in crystals, Buddha’s and fauna and the vibration of energy permeating from here is just sublime! A perfect setting to work on discovering the true essence of our being.
We will be working on the Power of each of our ‘I ams’ individually and collectively as a group using the transformative technology of Kundalini Yoga and meditation. We will also share some fun activities to help us explore our Sat Nam (our truth) and help us realise our unique gifts.
As teachers we all offer our own unique gifts and insights to share with you on the journey of discovering your ‘I ams’ and the fact that this retreat will fall on 11.11 a gateway for transformation makes what we we will create as a group even more powerful!
