Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
Off to Byron
Sat Nam,
This week I’m off to Byron Bay for a couple of days of R&R.
I used to be someone who had limited R&R. When I suffered from panic attacks I was too scared to go most places and as they started to subside, after I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, I was so intent on healing myself with Yoga, courses and healings I felt if I stopped I would fail.
A couple of years back I had an amazing Healing with an incredible teacher and for my homework he gave me massages. He also instructed I really stop and feel them. I didn’t get this at the time, but I took his advice and started to get regular massages. Although it was difficult at first, I stopped in that hour to allow myself to be nurtured and pampered and as a result I started to slow down and connect to my my life off the mat. I wasn’t as hell bent on doing five classes a week reading every book recommended to me, attending every talk I was invited to, I was more interested in using all I’d learnt so far and taking part in my life. So about 2 years back I started to take regular breaks, often to Byron as I so love that place!
The mat is such an important place for me to be as I learn so much about myself, I heal, I connect and I adjust my body and nervous system, but I’ve also realised it’s just as important to take what I learn and use it to support how I live my life.
So off to Byron I go! Whilst I’m away the lovely Anastasia will cover my classes at Soul Flow Yoga.
How often do you take time out for R&R and what do you do?
See you on the mat. ❤️
Love and light,
Adette
