Opening to Allow, Teaching at Soul Flow Yoga and the Kundalini Yoga Festival
Sat Nam,
How’s everyone travelling through this eclipse season energy. I’m finding it intense one day and exhilarating the next. It’s certainly a mixed bag! I’m just navigating through these changing emotions that I’m feeling one step at a time because right now I’m feeling a bit bipolar!
This week I said goodbye to two of my favourite people Bartek and Gosia who left for Poland. It was really sad and frustrating because they had both worked so hard to stay in Australia and in one foul swoop the government changed the visa requirements and they were no longer eligible. I asked them how they were feeling and they said although very sad to leave, they are accepting it and seeing where this new move will take them, basically surrendering to the outcome and allowing. How good is that! Although there was sadness in the farewells and an excitement in what’s to come I also sensed a real peace within both of them of accepting their fate. They kept saying the teachings and their practice of iKundalini Yoga is what has helped them go with the flow. So, inspired by these two amazing people and off the back of last week’s work on surrender I’ve added a word to my daily mantra, allow. Allowing goes hand in hand with surrender as the natural course is once we surrender we allow, but I seem to have to remind myself of that. I’m working on allowing myself to be open and just be with whatever is here in this moment.
I’ve also been working on this everyday through meditation. When I find myself lost in thought I bring myself back to my third eye and surrender and allow. Where I may have only been able to maintain this for a few seconds in the past I’m now staying steady in this place of neutral bliss for longer and longer each time and this is helping me stay steady through this intense eclipse season energy back in life.
So if this eclipse season is knocking you for a six, try meditating every day even if you just start off with 3 minutes and build up from there. A great meditation is the Kirtan Kriya with the mantra Sa Ta Na Ma. I find this meditation’s simple repetitive movement and mantra to be very soothing, winding the mind down to a blissful relaxed state. Give it a try, instructions on how to do this meditation are on the 3HO Website. Get googling! ?
Just a reminder that I am now teaching all my classes at Soul Flow Yoga. If you haven’t been to Soul Flow Yoga it’s a really lovely space in Bondi Junction. They have a strong group of gifted teachers that teach Kundalini, Yin and Vinyasa classes and there are great membership packages. All mats, blankets and eye pillows are provided, just bring yourself!
The Kundalini Yoga Collective will be running it’s 2nd biannual Kundalini Yoga Festival from Friday 29 September to Monday 2 October at Mangrove Yoga Centre. This is an exciting event where you can experience the essence of community as you immerse yourself in the Kundalini practice.
