The stillness between the pose, one on one coaching, change in timetable

Sat Nam,

Who here embraces stillness? I’ve had a love hate relationship with stillness, but these days it’s more love than hate. There was a time when I had little stillness in my life and I would busily move from one thing to the next often juggling lots of stuff all at once. It’s something I’ve had to develop a love and understanding for and it wasn’t until I committed to my practice of Kundalini Yoga that I began to understand, the importance of it, welcome and love it.

In Kundalini Yoga we refer to stillness as the Shunia Point or the zero point. When we go through a Kriya unless otherwise stated, we have a mini rest between poses. In this rest time whether it be in easy pose, baby pose or lying down, we allow our being to integrate what we learned from the previous poses. Some poses are really hard and others blissful and with each we allow this time in between for the lessons learned to sink in. Life is the same. We could be hit with turmoil or joy, and it is so important to take time between each life event to allow the previous event to integrate. This is how we give our being space to learn and grow.

I recently went through a life event where I felt hurt and distress. My initial reaction was to run away, busy myself and look for something to replace what was gone all so I didn’t have to face and feel the pain it had caused. I had to make a conscious effort to stop, sit and breath and in the stillness allow the pain and discomfort to integrate and pass through me. In the quiet as I sat with myself, I began to see the wood from the trees. I gave the Universe space and quiet to speak to me and do its thing.

Sitting in the stillness is not easy, and in the practice of meditation we are given the opportunity to experience it. Meditation takes us through the process of befriending stillness. When I first meditated I would fidget, become agitated, impatient among other unsettled emotions and then one day through all this unrest I fell into a moment of stillness and each time I practice the unsettling feelings would occur for less of a time and the stillness became more.

Try a 3 minute meditation for 40 days and once you feel comfortable take the time up to 11 minutes. Feel how this practice affects your being and be aware of the process you go through. I’d love to hear your experiences, let me know by replying to this email.

I’m also excited to share that I am now offering one on one coaching sessions based on the Kundalini teachings. I am a certified coach and have been coaching clients through my recruitment business for a number of years. Anyone who’s feeling stuck, looking for a shift, wants to create and manifest their intentions, I would love to hear from you for a free 20 minute consultation. If you are interested, please contact me on 0414349451 or reply to this email.
