Seeing the wood from the trees

How often in life is there so much noise in your head you can’t hear the whisper of truth from your soul? This week I experienced that big time and suddenly couldn’t see the wood from the trees. My instinct was drowned out by the noise of fear and insecurity. As much as I tried, I couldn’t rest quietly in the uncertainty of my issue.

I did yoga, I meditated and in the moments of quiet that arose throughout my practice, without fear clouding my judgement, I could see all will be ok, but gee it was hard to take that feeling from the mat back into the world.

Eventually I remembered Joseph Campbell’s quote: “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek” and I faced my issue head on and got through it.

Without my practice I wouldn’t have had the quiet moments of clarity I required to realise what I needed to do.

My practice on my mat brings me clarity and what I noticed through this issue is although I haven’t conquered the overwhelming fear of the unknown, through the tools I have learned through Kundalini Yoga I’ve faced and handled the situation with vulnerability, openness and courage. Yes there are still meltdowns but I’m no longer navigating through life without a compass. Kundalini Yoga has given me my compass.

What do you use as your compass to help navigate you through turmoil?
