Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the one day of the year…
Times of change, Super Super Moon and Power of the Mantra: Journey through the Tatvas
Wow! What a week it has been! The political run for presidency has been long and arduous and the outcome for allot of us brought despair, fear, hysteria and anger, whilst others revelled in the possibility of the long awaited change they were looking for. Whichever way you look at it, we are certainly headed for huge change on this planet allot of which, if the past few months are anything to go by, may well be dark.
So what can we do to help this world as individuals who have no control of a global outcome? How can we feel that we are contributing to the greater good of peace on this planet?
The results of this election are the symptom not the cause of a deep seeded despair, fear and anger which has been years in the making leading us up to this point. Yogi Bhajan predicted this time of transition into the Aquarian Age would be unsettling to say the least and he gave us five sutras (words to live by) to guide us through these trying times:
Recognise that the other person is you:
There is a way through every block:
When the time is on you start and the pressure will be off:
Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times:
Vibrate the Cosmos; the Cosmos shall clear the path:
In times like this, it’s imperative for the good of this world that we come together as a community looking for our similarities rather than our differences. We must work through with our hearts and souls what our minds perceive as unworkable. We must keep moving forward and look at each situation we are presented through the eyes of compassion as through our hearts we can clearly see each other’s truth with understanding, love and unite. And finally we must tune into the vibration of the Universe and have faith that the Universe sees all and knows better than us about what it’s doing in order for us to move to a more peaceful way of life on this planet.
Yogi Bhajan also gave us the teachings of Kundalini Yoga to prepare and support us for these times. Think of your mat as your gym for life. This technology is designed to build our physical strength, balance our emotions, open our hearts and connect us to ourselves, others and the Universe. It gives us the tools to face troubled times with courage and kindness. It allows us to see past our fears and the constraints of the mind to the truth that love and compassion bring.
Never before has it been a more important to keep up your practice, whether it be in a class, in nature, a workshop or at home. Sit on your mat or on the earth and do yoga, meditate or just do whatever it is you do to plug into the soul of the world. Just ‘be’ with yourself, get to know yourself, challenge yourself and most importantly love yourself. Work hard to get through any blocks and view this world through the eyes of compassion. Tap into your unique gifts and give back, whether it be through art, teaching, numbers, building, caring, serving, whatever you are gifted in give back from your heart. We can’t control global change as separate individuals but by coming together and sharing our goodness as a united community, we can certainly bring positive change and make our world a better place and right now this world desperately needs your light, so shine bright! As Yogi Bhajan says “Keep up and you’ll be kept up” so let’s all keep up together!
To follow the big week we’ve just had Mother Nature is putting on a powerful event on Monday night going into the early hours of Tuesday morning, as she presents the biggest and brightest Super Moon since 1948 to be next seen in 2034. Full moons traditionally bring strong energy, but this one is going to be a doozy! It’s forecast rain in Sydney, so this is a great time to get yourself to a yoga class and harness it’s awesome energy. Adette will teach a special class to elevate us and ignite our magnetic field. Whatever you decide to do just enjoy this incredibly powerful moon energy!
On Tuesday night in the wake of this amazing moon energy Maya will be starting her 5 week workshop The Power of the Mantra Series: A Journey through the Tatvas. This course will go deep into the transformational power of the sound current through mantra technology. Every week she will present a different tattva: Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Ether. The cost is $120 for the series (includes take home manual & mantras) or if you can’t commit to the whole series, $30 per workshop.
