Sat Nam, This week we work on in my opinion, the most important chakra the…
A time to breath, Week 2 of Maya’s Journey through the Tatvas focussing on the element Water and a Workshop with Kathryn McCusker.
What about that moon! Not only did it shine big and bright the energy felt by many was so intense! I know I felt it through every cell of my being! I felt like I was down deep in the depths of the ocean and after a while it got quite heavy. I was watching a whale the other day frolicking, breaching and basically having a whale of a time and I realised that like that whale who spends much of its time deep, it’s important to get up to the surface, breath, frolic and enjoy. I’ve spent years going deep, healing and working very hard to be the best version of myself possible in this moment and through this journey I have learnt balance is so important, as with everything, if we focus to much on one thing we can hit a burnout.
So like the whale, I’ve found a balance in going deep and then rising back up to the surface to breath and have fun and in doing so my batteries recharge ready for the next dive. Whatever it is you do for fun, do it with a childlike abandonment, let go, enjoy, laugh and love! Life is way too short not to enjoy!
We’re so excited to share we will be hosting a workshop with Kathryn McCusker from KM Yoga on Thursday 12 January. For those of you who don’t know Kathryn she is an incredible teacher with such uplifting energy she’s sure to have you fired up by the end of the evening.

ABOUT KATHRYN
Kathryn McCusker discovered Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in Yucatan, Mexico in 2000 and has been teaching worldwide ever since. After living in London for eleven years, where she taught private clients including Bjork and Rachel McAdams and classes at Triyoga and Alchemy – two of the largest yoga studios there – she returned to Sydney in 2011 to open KMYOGA, Sydney’s first dedicated Kundalini Yoga Studio, which she ran for three years. She has now returned to London where she is again teaching private clients and group classes, as well as leading retreats worldwide.
A professional opera singer for over twenty years, Kathryn’s background in music and voice gives her a deep connection to the transformative power of mantra (chanting) and pranayama (breath). She is a Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) certified Level One and Level Two teacher and a mentor with the International Kundalini Yoga School, Amrit Nam Sarovar in France.
Kathryn is passionate about sharing these inspiring and uplifting teachings with as many people as possible. Watkins commissioned and published Kathryn’s first book, Kundalini Meditation – The path to personal transformation and creativity, which was released in the US in November 2012 and in the UK and Australia in March 2013. It has now been translated into Dutch, Italian and French and is available to buy in English, along with her mantra meditations CD.
